Sexual Health Education Referral Request (9th Grade Females Only)

Sisters Saving Sisters is an organization that focuses on providing information to high school female students, who identify as women of color, regarding the importance of self-esteem, body image, healthy decisions, and sexual health education.

Their program provides a mentorship opportunity for students to receive health education through in-person discussions, presentation information, and peer support. This program involves a 5-week in-person group curriculum 1x/week (during the school day) for a period of 45 minutes-1 hour. Please reach out to me, Mrs. Troncoso, if you are interested in enrolling your 9^th grade female student in this program (no later than Friday, December 10^rd)

Backpack Buddies - NW Families Food Resource Registration <Action Possible>

Backpack Buddy is a program through the Houston Food Bank which provides canned food items to families for weekend meals (students will pick up these meals from the Counselor’s office on a designated day each week. Please reach out to me, Mrs. Troncoso, if you are interested in enrolling your Yes Prep Northwest Middle and/or High School students in this program (no later than Friday, December 10^rd) so that I may provide you with online consent forms.

Boys to Men of Texas Mentoring Group (Male Students Ages 13-17 Only) <Action Possible>

Boys to Men of Texas is an organization that focuses on providing information to male students ages 13-17, regarding leadership skills, camaraderie, responsibility, self-confidence, etc.

Every week Boys to Men mentors will come to Northwest to offer mentorship members the following supports:

A community of mentors and role models who listen, encourage, and empower them.
A community of men who model integrity, accountability, compassion, and respect.
A community where boys are empowered to speak their truth and encouraged to take responsibility for their choices.
A community where boys feel supported, listened to, and valued.
A community where boys see their peers are facing similar challenges, and they are NOT ALONE in their struggles.

Please reach out to me, Mrs. Troncoso, if you are interested in enrolling your Yes Prep Northwest Middle and/or High School students in this program (no later than Friday, December 10^rd) so that I may provide you with hard copy consent forms (online applications are not available for this organization).

Refer a Family

Our Lottery for the 2022-2023 has officially opened! We are asking for our current HAWKS Families to help us and refer us any potential new families looking to join a new opportunity, YES Prep Northwest.

If a family lets us know that you referred them to us and the reason they chose to apply to our lottery, we will buy you a pizza! In fact, you'll get a pizza for each family you refer and applies. Please help us out by sharing your love for our school with others and we will keep putting dinner on your table!

If you know of a family interested, but needs to hear from us directly - complete this SURVEY and we will reach out to the family to provide more information.

Skyward - Grades

Grades will be finalized when we return from Winter break, teachers are providing opportunities for students to raise their grade. Students are encouraged to be active and participate on makeup work.

We encourage families to review student's grades by reviewing through Skyward!
